Problem 6.1 Mail Order Delivery of Items
Sue Barker works in the mail order supply depot of a hardware store.
Her
job is to send out orders which may include small quantities of nails,
screws, nuts, bolts, washers, padlocks and keys to customers. The
items in each order are usually placed in a single plastic bag and then
packaged in an envelope. Sue then weighs the package and writes its
weight on the outside of the envelope.
The weights of the plastic bag, envelope and items are tabulated below:

a. Sue received an order for 1 nail, 1 screw, 1 nut, 1
bolt, 1 washer, 1 water tap, 1 padlock and 2 keys. Calculate the weight of
these items.
b. Calculate the weight of these items after they have been placed in a
plastic bag and packaged in an envelope.
c. Another order requested 10 nails, 5 screws, 2 nuts, 4 bolts, 6 washers,
2 padlocks and 4 keys. Calculate the total weight of this order after it
has been packaged.
