A 20 litre container is completely filled with a solution that has a concentration level of 75%.  If x litres are removed and replaced with pure water, the solution is diluted to the 50% level.  Find x.

Problem 2.7  Sound Together

a.  Foghorn A sounds every 2 seconds, and Foghorn B sounds every 3 seconds.  They sound together at noon.  How many seconds later will they next sound together?

b.  Foghorn P sounds every 26 seconds, and Foghorn Q sounds every 46 seconds.  They sound together at noon.  How many seconds later will they next sound together?

I am thinking of a number.  If I add a third, a sixth, and a ninth of it together, I get a total of 55.  What is my number?
